This is a massively under-viewed movie. If you are from the U. No one who sees this movie would believe it was a low-budget 1979 flop. Too many animated movies disorientate the audience with frenetic direction and over-indulgence, but Castle Of Cagliostro works so much better by taking its time and choosing the best angles to cover the action. This is one of those movies that anyone who likes movies owes it to themself to watch even if they hate cartoons.
Half a moment after crossing the border, Lupin and Jigen are involvedin a car chase and rescue the Lady Clarisse from a bunch of goons. If you have any legal issues please contact the appropriate media file owners or host sites. Far from his typical sub-genre of eco-friendly animation, Miyazaki is obviously a big fan of Lupin and has made a movie that refuses to be missed. Seconds after robbing a Monte Carlo casino, Lupin and Jigen discoverthat every dollar note they have swiped is a fake. Fast paced without any hint of slowing down. The title song is sobeautiful, and I have it in my head still while writing this review.
Synopsis After successfully robbing the Monte Carlo Casino, Lupin The Third and Jigen Daisuke soon learn that their money is in fact counterfeit and they go after the man responsible: Count Lazare de Cagliostro. Can Lupin find out what this is and live to tell the tale? In fact, the only anime I genuinely love comes from Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. Not surprising since it is produced by Ghibli Studio, directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki. The movie starts of in cliché style of action movie. The film does expect you to be somewhat familiar with the characters going into it, which some might complain about, but you have to remember that this is part of a fairly long-running series. They start a fire as a distraction and steal the Count's autogyro. The animation is very good, asare the voice talents, none of the stars are huge names, unlikePrincess Mononoke and the Cat Returns.
Who needs a thousand words? What follows is scene after scene of hairs breadth escapes and impossible scenarios. And the ring is the key toa great treasure that can only be uncovered when the Lady Clarisse ismarried to the Count. She's very dangerous and her only wish is to become richer and richer. At least they took their time. If you don't know what magic I'm talking about watch Mononoke Hime or Spirited Away;do yourself a pleasure, watch them.
There is one very brief scene, for instance, where the heroes drive through some trees and various things fly through the car, including a bird which loops around their heads. Goemon Ishikawa:Lupin' second best friend and mate,he is the archetype of a samurai. Whatfollows is scene after scene of hairs breadth escapes and impossiblescenarios. One of the greatest anime of all time. The world's greatest thief,he's also a master of disguise. Can Lupin find out what this is and live to tell the tale? But his determination, which is capable of moving mountains and their ongoing training for more than two years will go far, and fight against all that is put in front to be able to become, paradoxically, in the Japanese martial arts champion. He puts the well-working Lupin franchise into a superbly written story, with brilliant dialogs and deep, interesting characters.
Well, it's 2000 now and I have never forgotten it. The main character is Lupin, the master thief, who you may know already ifyou have read the manga which this is based upon. The Count isn't exactly sinister, but he is a veryconvincing and somewhat creepy villain. Lupin's Inspector Gadget style inventions coupled with his sneaky plans are great to watch, there's always something else getting schemed up. Not the best animated movie ever, but damn if it's not close. This man is the mastermind behind great anime movie such as Totoro:the neighbour, Kiki delivery Service, Laputa the floating castle. This country is the smallest member of the United Nations with the population of 3,500.

Its really hard to find fault in a movie that delivers such great feeling. Anyone who enjoys a good adventure yarn which is more about the characters than having a complicated plot would probably enjoy this - think Indiana Jones or James Bond but less violent. I swear I saw this movie when I was a kid, but I alwaysfeel that way when I watch Miyazaki's films. Lupin is a perfect example of this, and it's no wonder themovie is still so well revered in Japan. By the end, I even learned to love Lupin and the whole cast of characters who were all strangers to me at the beginning of the movie. The Castle of Cagliostro is my 4th favourite from Miyazaki's filmography and I've seen all 11 of his films, so it is top 5 material for me.
The two soon find out that the Count is behind something far worse than counterfeiting money for casinos: he has been keeping a family secret hidden deep in his castle. It's not his fault tho, since Lupin also has escape skills of superhuman ability. The story is quite good. How would you define a movie classic? It seems a little crazy. There are a few physics-defying scenes that kind of made me cringe the car driving sideways up a steep incline, Lupin jumping off the roof of the castle is still able to catch the side of a turret. He has a long time crush on Fujiko Mine, and that causes him more troubles than he'd ever want to admit Jigen Daisuke:one of Lupin's two best friends,Jigen is a marksman of uncanny accuracy.
The Duchy is a land of mountains and lakes, with a castle town and a still-functioning Roman aqueduct. In fact, the only anime Igenuinely love comes from Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. It's a shame that this film has been so overlooked! Can Lupin find out what this is and live to tell the tale? This one is my favourite.
